Telling my own Truth to live.

Beloved Community:

This is the beginning of a new blog about the To tell you the Truth project.

To tell you the Truth is a production-based project that combines media literacy, media making and truth-telling to heal and create Liberation through Beauty!

In the past year this has included working with mamaz, community caregivers and femmez to begin to create and vision some projects that will support our truth-telling and liberation!

As the founder of To tell you the Truth, I am currently working on projects that come from my own identity base. I believe that as we begin to heal and understand ourselves we create the foundation for how we will create impact and healing for our families, communities and, ultimately, the world.

Therefore, for the time being, I committing to working on projects that are based on my own mestizaje/mayan-femme/diva-radical-border/crossing-goddess-adoptee- single/teen/welfare/queen-mama-spanglish/speaking-queer-as-hell-academically/impacted-lived/experience/learned identity. These intersections are vital to the truth-telling perspective that I work from and (luckily) create space to build with and learn from many different movements.

I am excited to begin this new blog and will be working over the next few months to establish a website that will feature more collaborations and ways to plug into the work To tell you the Truth is doing.

For now, this blog will serve a space to learn more about To tell you the Truth and it's multiple projects.

This blog will also serve as a space where I will share with you my personal truths.. because I truly believe that we must tell our truths to live, to heal and to empower ourselves. I am focusing my personal contribution here to document my adoption journey here and am so proud to share this spiritual path to re-discovery and re-claiming with you. Thank you for beginning this walk with me.
